IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"Karts for Young Hearts" to Benefit Adoption Services SACRAMENTO - Sierra Adoption Services will be hosting the first annual Karts for Young Hearts fundraising event, at Race Place Motorsports in Rancho Cordova on Sunday, May 23. This exciting event combines the adrenaline-pumping fun of high-speed kart racing with a worthy cause to benefit California's foster children. Up to ten sponsor teams will compete in a variety of activities, starting with a high-speed kart race. These little racers, powered by a high-output 9 horsepower engine, are capable of speeds of 40 mph on the straight-aways. Racers will be clocked for best "team time." The second competition is the Pit Crew Challenge. In this event, team members will actually race to see who can change the tires and sparkplugs on an actual stock car, as well as squeezing a driver into the car in the best time. The final competition focuses on which team raised the most additional funds to help find permanent adoptive families for children who are currently waiting in foster care. Families are urged to come out and enjoy the day. Activities will be set up for everyone to enjoy, from cheering for the competing teams, to playing games and enjoying the food. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Competing teams will consist of up to six members, and will make a contribution of $2,500 per team. Only 10 teams will compete. Other sponsor opportunities include signage exposure through the facility, scoreboard exposure, smack sheet exposure, skybox exposure, and racetrack exposure. Fees for sponsorships outside of team competitions range from $250 to $1,500. Now celebrating 20 years of service to California's waiting children, Sierra Adoption Services is a private nonprofit adoption agency whose mission is to transform the lives of foster children by finding and nurturing permanent adoptive families.
